Psychological testing in Pasadena, CA.
Would you like to get psychological testing for you or your child?
Are you or a loved one struggling with a mental health condition, but can't seem to find the right answers? It's easy to feel lost when symptoms are impacting daily life, relationships, and performance at work or school. Getting an accurate diagnosis from a mental health professional can be the first step toward getting the help you need.
It's frustrating to feel like you're falling behind. Maybe you're dealing with depression, anxiety, stress, attention problems, or social challenges. Perhaps you feel isolated and misunderstood, making it hard to connect with friends and family.
Or maybe you're a parent watching your child struggle with emotional, behavioral, or social difficulties. They might be falling behind in school, struggling to make friends, or not developing at the same rate as their peers. These challenges can be stressful for the entire family, often leading to arguments and tension.
Whether you're seeking support for yourself or your child, we can help. At Huntington Psychological Services, we specialize in comprehensive psychological testing for mental health conditions, learning differences, and social-emotional challenges. Our evaluations provide accurate diagnoses and personalized treatment plans for kids, teens, and adults, so you can finally get the clarity and support you deserve.
Many people with mental health conditions live without proper diagnoses
It’s easy to feel lost when you're struggling with a psychological issue, especially if you don’t have a proper diagnosis. Many people face this challenge, even though conditions like ADHD, autism, anxiety, and learning disorders are incredibly common. For example, over 30% of American adults will experience an anxiety disorder at some point, and roughly 11.4% of children have ADHD. A psychological evaluation is often the key to understanding what you're going through.
Without a diagnosis, you might struggle in ways you don't fully understand. An undiagnosed learning disability could be the reason for academic struggles and low self-esteem. Untreated anxiety or depression can make daily life and relationships feel overwhelming. Misunderstood behavioral issues might lead to social isolation or conflict.
A psychological assessment can provide the clarity you need. It helps you gain deeper insight into your unique strengths and weaknesses and gives you access to the right treatment, support, and resources to improve your quality of life.
Psychological testing can offer a roadmap for overcoming your challenges
Our psychological evaluations are highly effective because they offer a detailed understanding of your mental health, behavior, and cognitive abilities. These assessments can diagnose conditions such as ADHD, autism, anxiety, and learning disabilities. Think of our evaluations as a “blueprint” that reveals how you or your child operates. We focus on identifying strengths, challenges, and specific needs, and we examine how these factors impact work, school, and social relationships. Our approach is warm and compassionate, and we conduct each evaluation with the same care, empathy, and professionalism that we would want for ourselves or our loved ones.
Our practice provides psychological testing for a wide range of conditions, including ADHD, autism, learning disabilities, anxiety, depression, personality disorders, giftedness, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, body image issues, eating disorders, and many more. We also provide assessments for school and work accommodations. So no matter what you’re struggling with, we are confident that we can offer an evaluation tailored to your needs.
What sets us apart
At Huntington Psychological Services, our philosophy is simple: we provide diagnostic assessments with the care we would want for ourselves and our own loved ones. We put ourselves in your shoes, ensuring every evaluation is delivered with the compassion, warmth, and professional excellence you and your family deserve.
Our assessment process
Intake
We'll start with a 1 to 1.5-hour interview (online or in person). You’ll meet with your lead clinician to talk about your concerns, what you hope to get out of the evaluation, and the goals you want to set. (If it's for your child, this session is just for the parents.)
Testing
Next, you or your child will spend about 3-4 hours in our office with a testing technician. We'll complete various tests to get a clear picture of your thinking, processing, and learning styles. Most of the time, this is done in a single visit.
Feedback
In another 1 to 1.5-hour meeting (online or in person), your lead clinician will walk you through the results. We’ll discuss any diagnoses and give you a personalized action plan with concrete recommendations.
Report
About two weeks after your feedback session, we’ll send you a detailed report with all your results, diagnoses, and recommendations. You can use this to share with doctors, schools, or anyone else who is a part of your care team.
The entire evaluation process takes about six weeks, with the final report arriving two weeks after your feedback session. Our goal is to give you more than just a diagnosis—we want to provide you with a clear roadmap and helpful information you can use for clarity and support moving forward.
