We specialize in comprehensive ADHD testing and assessments for children and adults

Are You Interested in Pursuing an ADHD Evaluation?

  • Do you or your child have symptoms that match the criteria for ADHD?
  • Are you struggling with hyperactivity, lack of focus, and organizational difficulties?
  • Do you find yourself constantly missing deadlines and feeling overwhelmed at work?

Maybe your ADHD symptoms have led to social issues, family stress, or academic or job challenges. You might have trouble managing your time and constantly procrastinate on important tasks. Perhaps you find it hard to maintain friendships and relationships due to impulsivity and inattentive behaviors. When you forget about social events and obligations, other people may take it personally and think you don’t care. Over time, these problems could lead to feelings of inadequacy and low self-esteem.

On the other hand, perhaps you suspect that your child has ADHD. They might be disruptive in class, unable to sit still, and frequently interrupt their teachers. They may also have difficulty focusing, following instructions, and completing their work on time, which can result in poor grades and falling behind their peers.

Whether you or your child is showcasing symptoms of ADHD, we encourage you to connect with us. Here at Huntington Psychology Services, we specialize in providing comprehensive neuropsychological testing for people of all ages who are struggling with ADHD. Our assessment services aim to help people improve their daily functioning and get the accommodations, referrals, and treatments they need.

Today, There is An Ever-Increasing Demand For ADHD Testing

According to the CDC, roughly eleven percent of children ages three to seventeen have been diagnosed with ADHD (1). Additionally, about eight percent of adults ages 18 to 44 have also been diagnosed with the condition (2). And when you consider how many cases of ADHD go undiagnosed, the actual percentages are probably much higher. After all, many adults grew up before much was known about ADHD, so they’ve had to navigate adulthood without adequate support for their struggles.

Thankfully, today there is a growing awareness around ADHD. The stigma has begun to wane and people are starting to realize the profound impact that ADHD can have on daily life. As a result, ADHD assessments have become increasingly normalized. These assessments provide a comprehensive understanding of an individual’s cognitive and behavioral challenges, leading to accurate diagnoses. This enables personalized treatment recommendations, including therapy, medication, and special accommodations at work or school.

Early identification and treatment can also prevent secondary issues such as anxiety, depression, and low self-esteem, making timely evaluations crucial for long-term well-being. Without an assessment, many individuals struggle to perform at work, manage their responsibilities, and maintain healthy relationships. All of these reasons point to the importance of getting an ADHD evaluation.

ADHD Testing Can Help You Connect With Your Strengths and Get Personalized Care

Our ADHD evaluations are highly effective, offering clear insights into the challenges you or your child faces and providing personalized, actionable recommendations to address them. We provide comprehensive, evidence-based ADHD assessments and testing for children, teens, and adults. The benefits of our services go far beyond a mere diagnosis—they can help you learn how to navigate the symptoms of ADHD as well as connect with your inner strengths. After all, many people with ADHD have incredible powers of creativity, multitasking, hyperfocus, and insight. It’s our mission to help you get in touch with your superpowers so that you can harness ADHD to your advantage in life.

How the ADHD Assessment Process Works

Our assessments follow a simple three-step process which is outlined below:

  • Step One: Intake appointment—In a one-to-two-hour clinical interview that can be done either in-person or via Zoom, you and your clinician will discuss your concerns, set goals, and design a tailored evaluation plan. If your child is being tested, we will conduct the session with you alone.
  • Step Two: Testing—This will be a day-long, in-person session where you or your child will complete various tasks to understand thinking, processing, and learning styles. The goal is to create a personalized blueprint of strengths and weaknesses. Generally, the testing process is done in a day, but occasionally multiple days are needed.
  • Step Three: Feedback—In a one-to-two-hour session (in-person or via Zoom), your clinician will review the assessment results with you and share whether or not a diagnosis was identified. They will also offer personalized information and provide specific recommendations for ADHD treatment. Approximately two weeks after the feedback session is done, you will receive a comprehensive written report containing all the results and recommendations from the evaluation.

The entire ADHD testing process usually takes about six weeks. Afterward, we would be happy to connect you with any accommodations you need at school or in the workplace, and we can also review school/medical records and conduct school observations (if necessary). We’ll give you a personalized treatment plan that can include therapy, medication, and lifestyle changes. This can help you greatly improve your academic performance, workplace productivity, and relationships, leading to a better overall quality of life.

You May Have Some Questions About ADHD Testing…

What if ADHD testing costs too much?

Our ADHD assessments are comprehensive, typically requiring 20 to 30 hours of clinician work, which makes the hourly cost similar to therapy. These evaluations can pinpoint issues and identify areas of growth with incredible accuracy, saving you time and money otherwise spent with providers trying to figure out the problem. Investing in high-quality assessments can improve your mental health and productivity at school or work. Most of our clients find that the cost of an assessment is justified by the benefits they receive.

Do you accept insurance?

Our practice is out-of-network (OON) with all health insurance plans. However, many individuals have plans that can reimburse some of your costs for OON treatments. To make things easier, we’ve partnered with Reimbursify, which simplifies the process of filing insurance claims and reduces the hassle of OON claims. Submitting your claim takes just minutes, and you can receive your payment more quickly. For more details, please feel free to contact us.

Can your assessments distinguish between ADHD and other conditions?

An accurate diagnosis of ADHD is essential because its symptoms often mimic those of other conditions, such as anxiety. A thorough evaluation not only confirms ADHD but also rules out similar disorders. This distinction is crucial because, despite overlapping symptoms, the treatments for different conditions can vary significantly. For instance, stimulant medications can alleviate inattention, hyperactivity, and impulsivity in ADHD patients, but may potentially worsen these symptoms in individuals with other conditions.
